When Rita’s Water Ice is officially closed for the season, it can only mean one thing…FALL IS HERE!
At first it may seem difficult to trade your mango gelati for a hot chocolate, especially since the weather in Upper Dublin typically remains on the warmer side until at least mid-October. 1. Take a hike!
Venture to Wissahickon Valley Park and hike, bike, walk, or run the various leaf-covered trails. Or stay in the neighborhood, and take a leisurely stroll through Mondauk Park.

Dare your brave family and friends to find their way through a Haunted House! LuLu Shriners, in Plymouth Meeting, is running their 10th annual House of Horrors, which includes a wagon ride through the haunted woods, creepy characters, and a spooky corn maze.
3. Show your school spirit!
Cheer for your high school or college football team, as they tackle, rush, kick, pass, and score on the football field! The Upper Dublin Cardinals are currently undefeated, so put on your red and grey and root them on!
4. Treat your sweet tooth!
Reward yourself for making it through another swimsuit season! Indulge your taste buds and enjoy one of Town Crier Bakery’s yummy Smores Cupcakes in Willow Grove, or enjoy a Caramel Apple Scone from Ambler’s Alice’s Bakery. Fall doesn’t just mean pumpkin spice lattes anymore!

Freddy Hill Farms, located in Lansdale, has been offering pumpkin patch tours for over 25 years and is a great way for children to learn how pumpkins are grown.
7. See it on the big screen!
Take in a flick at the Ambler Theater! Showing many of the latest films, Ambler Theater offers a convenient and fun movie-going experience close to home. If you would rather have a showtime under the stars, Upper Dublin township will be running drive-in movies at Temple University Ambler.
8. Drink up!
For the month of October, Chaddsford Winery welcomes adults (21 and over) to tour their property, enjoy tasty wine pairings, and receive a free Halloween themed wine glass. Their Adult Trick or Treat weekends will get you feeling in the holiday spirit!
9. Take the kids out!
Ambler invites families to participate in their Halloween Extravaganza! Kids in costume can paint pumpkins, compete in a costume contest, and trick-or-treat along Main Street. This special event is held October 24th and is a great way to wander Ambler’s shops and eateries, while entertaining your trick-or-treater!
